I’m going to keep this post short and sweet, as the past few weeks have been a little crazy. Work has been manic in the ImSoFunky! office as i’ve been working on new business ventures and bringing my new concepts from ideas to release stages.
I feel that as an artist, its important to grow your artistic skills and practice new things and expand your personal portfolio. If your a painter that paints oil, then have a go at water painting, or if your a pencil cartoonist, give airbrushing a go etc.. expand your knowledge base and just have a go. If it doesn’t work then your no further than where you were at the start, but at least you gave it a shot.
I’m sorry to be so bland on the work front, but I cant release any information until the projects are released. I’ve worked way to hard to announce things prematurely and mess up everything, and my work gets ruined!.
I bought the new Frank Ocean album yesterday, It’s a good album. I wish Ed Sheeran would hurry up and release his next offering. Such a talented kid!.
Im thinking of going on a trip to Ireland. Just to go visit the ‘Emerald Isle’ on a sight seeing senario. If you were to visit, what would you suggest I go and see? any must see things? let me know!.
peace and love!
I’ve started getting involved in a new project called ‘Welsh Mad’ which is based around creating a more welsh community. Whether it be educating people to speak welsh, or getting people to start advertising there welsh roots, or simply talking about the local rugby.
I’ve found Wales is split up into sections where you’ve got your welsh vs non welsh speakers, traditional areas vs non traditional areas etc plus I’ve found non speakers would love to learn the language but don’t know where to start. Yet those that are fluent often alienate the ones that can’t.
So we need to get a community organised where people can join in together and also help bring old traditions back to life. So before we’ve merged so much with other country’s and loose all our heritage, we need to advertise ourselves to being welsh, and very proud of it.
This evening I hooked up with Andy. We had a laugh and he said about ‘sopa’ which apparently will start governing copyrighted material online. which is kind of mad as all the big organisations are clubbing together and striking etc! madness!.
I also started planning a sculpture im wishing to make. I’ll be sculpting it out of wood so it’s more of a sculpt/carving thing. But I’m blooming excited!. I’ll upload the pics during the process and when it’s finished.
My work on the new Urban Fusion website is practically done. Just waiting on more notes from Bibs. When he’s happy I can put it online. The design concept is very plain & basic. So plain in fact that there’s practically no design too it. But hey ho, I’m only told what to do on this project.
In other website stuff I managed to de-code a website that had been cyber hacked and manage to put it back online in one piece, getting rid of all the viruses. It was quite mad actually as its the same problem I seen a few websites having. Its sad when kids start making viruses to ruin things for everyone else. Little buggers!
I thought of the name randomly and got the domain name of ‘WearMySwag.com’ which I think would be awesome for a clothing type of site.
To be honest though, I have not got a clue on where I should go with this project. So if you have any ideas…let me know!
Well my first full week back to work has gone quite well. I’m alot more organised lately which was a major downfall last year. To be honest I was always punctual & organised growing up. But the last few years I’ve been slacking really badly.
The website drama is still causing a tsunami in my brain, but not as bad since my last post. I’ve been able to get my head round some of this code for the shopping section. It’s made me push back the website reveal another 3 weeks. so I’m quite miffed about it.
Today I sat with my sister and ran through some ideas with her that ive got for the company. Plus I told her about what I plan to do design wise for everyone. This I can reveal yet, but it’s soo close till I can’t. Tomorrow im going for sum chill time with my best mate Andy Bassett. I’ve known him for a very long time and he’s a top lad. I like to bounce ideas with friends and people I can trust to honestly say if something’s good or bad.
I’m exhausted with the work rate and planning but I’m so excited about ImSoFunky. I think this is the first time I’ve been able to fully create my own project from start to finish. Plus I can be creative and wild as I can and have no one to answer too. I feel that ive served my time as an apprentice to all the businesses in cardiff and now it’s time I can put my own mark in the city. Its blooming fantastic!.
I’m not going to lie! I’m not the worlds best at organisation, but christmas hasn’t half krept up. I’m half way through my shopping and there’s about a week to go!! Argh!! With that in mind I’m going to hit Cardiff town tomorrow with @rhysryall and finish it all of. I’m quite looking forward to it to be honest!
Here’s a pic of my last shopping adventure. It’s a shop window display at macauther glen in Bridgend.
